‘The Boys’ Ranks On Top 11 Times

Girls’ Generation, who resumed activities in mid-October, ranked first a whopping 11 times as of the end of November on music programs on both major television networks and cable channels, living up to its status as one of the top girl groups in Korea. 

The Boys from its third album grabbed the top spot five weeks in a row on KBS2’s Music Bank, three consecutive weeks on SBS’ Ingigayo and hit no.1 on Mnet’s M Countdown. As a thank you for their fans′overwhelming display of affection, the girls are planning on continuing their activities till the end of December, beginning with a performance of Mr. Taxi on Music Bank on December 2. 

In particular, the girl group will be releasing a repackaged album with Mr. Taxi as its title song on December 7, and will be performing on an array of programs.

Mr. Taxi was released as a single album in April in Japan, and was included in the group’s first Japanese official album, which has sold 700,000 copies. The song also claimed the top spot on the Oricon daily chart. The Korean version was unveiled in Girls′ Generation′s second solo concert in Japan, which was held in July. 

Meanwhile, Girls’ Generation is slated to perform at the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), which is set to be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on November 29.
